View all Kerry and Cork peninsulas, Bantry Bay, Kenmare Bay, Stone rows, Copper mine, Derreentaggart Stone Circle, Fulacht Fiadh

This walk climbs through the forestry which has been partly harvested, goes up to the radio masts on Knockgour from where we walk to the Trigonometry point which has subsided and shows a ingenious local repair. From here we can look over the Cork and Kerry peninsulas. and both Kenmare Bay or River, and Bantry Bay. We then cross Blanket or Raised bog, some of which is still harvested and dip down to the ?? for lunch, looking over Allihies with its mining history, ??Travara pier and harbour, where the boats used to land Mackrell and the salting shed. From there we descent to the disused Copper Mines, and carry on over open Finan and heather hill side to join the track back up to the forestry. Then we descent to Knockoura?? village with some old house ruins from mining times, but then we pass by more modern houses, non of which are permanently occupied, Writer??books on.
ere all the inhabitants have died out, including the historian??? who wrote on our way back we stop at Derreentaggart Stone Circle, and the Fulacht Fiadh, before finishing at McCarthy’s bar, made extra famous by the book McCarthy’s bar, by Pete McCarthy with over one million copies sold, the doctors sword and lots more
